Samsung is not the only company to schedule an event on September 3 in Berlin; Sony is also planning an event on that day.

According to the leaked press invite, Sony is planning to release several new products including smartphones and lens-style cameras. Based on recent rumors and leaks, Sony is likely to launch the Xperia Z3 and perhaps, the Xperia Z3 Compact

Sony is also expected to unveil at least one new lens-style camera, which will succeed the DSC-QX10 and QX100. As a quick recap, these are lens/camera attachments that you can attach to a smartphone to take photos. Its most recent announcement was the SPA-TA1, a camera lens mount that can be used for most tablets.

We reviewed the QX10 and found its performance to be a mixed bag; you can expect good image quality from the QX10, but it has limited manual controls and poor battery life. We hope Sony addresses these issues in its new range of lens-style camera products.

September is going to be a busy month for HardwareZone as we have to keep track of multiple events. Apple is also said to be holding an iPhone event on September 9.
