Combining the tablet and conventional desktop PC, the Vaio Tap 20 features an integrated battery, and a large, fully-adjustable 20-inch touchscreen (1,600 x 900-pixel resolution) to take advantage of the Windows 8 touch-optimized UI. Besides incorporating the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 and ClearAudio+ technology, it includes Sony's One-Touch function, utilizing NFC technology to allow users to seamlessly stream music to NFC-enabled devices. All you need to do is to touch the devices with each other to establish a connection. If you've the MDR-1RBT headphones or the SRS-BTV5 or SRS-BTM8 speakers, you can use them to continue from where you last stopped the music. Sony Xperia T, Xperia TX, and Xperia V smartphone users can also enjoy captured images and music stored on their mobile devices through the Vaio Tap 20 using this One-Touch function.
The Vaio Tap 20 also comes with two apps developed with the family in mind. They are Family Paint and Fingertapps Organizer. The former is a doodle app for two people, and the latter is family calendaring and messaging board app. There's also a Socialife app that individuals can use to manage their social networking services and news feeds.
Giant tablet or desktop PC? We say it's both.
Controls are lined up behind the top right of the screen.
The two USB 3.0 ports and the combined Memory Stick and SD card slot are located on the left hand side.

Sony Vaio Duo 11
The Vaio Duo 11 is a hybrid because it can be used as either an Ultrabook or a tablet. But it isn't a convertible because you can't detach the keyboard.
The Vaio Duo 11 is touted to be a high-performance, hybrid Ultrabook with a sliding 11.6-inch LCD display (with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels) that switches seamlessly between slate and keyboard mode. The new Vaio Duo 11 puts touch and handwriting right at the heart of your Windows 8 computing experience, and allows high-precision writing with a digitizer stylus. Featuring an Intel Core i7 or i5 processor, it measures just 17.75mm thin and weighs about 1.3kg.
Like the Vaio Tap 20, the Duo 11 features the One-Touch function that makes use of NFC to stream music to other NFC-enabled devices. The Socialife app is also available for the Duo 11.
On the left flank you'll find the headphones port, the Memory Stick / SD card combined slot, and the VGA port. We wonder if Sony could make the Duo 11 smaller if they were to remove the VGA port.
The power button, two USB ports, and the HDMI port are on the right hand side.
Here's how the Vaio Duo 11 looks like when you close the screen to the keyboard.
