Sony Prepares New E-Book Reader for Launch

Sony could be releasing new models of its E-Book readers in the U.S. as early as August. The Japanese consumer electronics giant aims to compete with the market's leader, the Amazon Kindle, even as it plans to release two tablet models later this year. Despite its tablet plans, Sony will still carry on promoting its E-Book readers as it feels consumers may still opt to buy an E-Book reader over a tablet due to the lower price and thus there will still be a market for dedicated readers.
