Bye bye, white consoles.

Sony has announced new PlayStation 5 faceplates that let users change the colour of their console. These new console covers come in five different colour variations, all of which launch in January 2022 globally.

The covers come in five colours: Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple. These covers cost US$54.99 (around S$75) each, and installation is fairly simple. According to Sony, you can, “simply remove your original white PS5 console covers and click your new ones into place.” While the base PS5 console is still only sold in white, at least you now have some customisation options available.

Sony is also introducing new colour variants of the DualSense controller too, joining the previously revealed Midnight Black and Cosmic Red versions. Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple controllers are launching to match the new console covers, all of which will be available in January 2022 globally. The controllers cost US$74.99 (around S$102) each.

These console covers are available for both the discless Digital Edition PS5 and the standard PS5, so do be aware that you’ll need to get the right cover to fit your console of choice. You can find more details on the PlayStation Blog.
