Sony launches WF-SP700N wireless sports earbuds

CES is a time of new tech toys, and Sony is no stranger to releasing a few goodies along the way, like the WF-SP700N wireless earbuds. 

Going by its features and form factor, the candy-colored earbuds are likely similar to the Sony WF-100X launched at IFA 2017, but the CES 2018 variant is targeted at sporty folks with its splash-proof build, rated at IPX4.

The true wireless earbuds have Sony's Noise Cancelling technology, and Ambient Sound mode when you need awareness of your surroundings. Ideally, they'd be a right fit if you're in a quiet gym, or when you need to listen out for traffic and people. Its audio capabilities are boosted with Sony's proprietary EXTRA BASS, which is a nice touch for deeper, punchier basslines that are suitable for workout tracks. As an added touch, you can store the WF-SP700N audio settings in its proprietary Headphones Connect app too. 

The WF-SP700N are fitted with arc supporters, offering a secure fit to keep up with contemporary sports activities. The carrying case doubles as a charging dock with enough juice to fully charge the earbuds twice, extending the three-hour battery life on the WF-SP700N to a total of nine hours. The carrying case can pair with your phone via NFC too.

Available in four colors (Pink, Yellow, Black, and White), the Sony WF-SP700N will be made available to select Asia-Pacific countries in Q2 2018.
