Sony announces new wireless earbuds and noise-cancelling headphones (updated with local availability)

Sony announced a new pair of true wireless earbuds and noise-cancelling headphones. 

The WF-XB700 true wireless earbuds come with an ergonomic tri-hold design for a secure, comfortable fit. It has IPX4 water and sweat resistance, which means you can use them for your exercise. They also use Bluetooth 5.0, and the Bluetooth chip transmits sound to the left and right ears simultaneously with low audio latency. Unfortunately, they do not have noise cancellation technology unlike the WF-1000XM3.

Sony claims the WF-XB700 earbuds have a 9-hour battery life and a 10-minute quick charge can give up to 60 minutes of music playback. The compact charging case will provide additional battery life of up to 18 hours. The WF-XB700 will be priced at US$129.99, and comes in black and blue colour options.

8 May 2020 update: The Sony WF-XB700 has a local retail price of S$199 at selected Sony Stores, Sony Centres, leading electronics stores and selected authorised dealers.

The WH-CH710N wireless headphones have Automatic Artificial Intelligence Noise Cancelling (AINC) function which constantly analyses environmental ambient sound and automatically selects the most effective nosie cancelling filter. They come with Dual Noise Sensor technology to capture more ambient sounds and let you take control of what you hear with Ambient Sound mode. 

Sony states that the WH-CH710N headphones have a battery life of up to 35 hours. Similar to the WF-XB700 earbuds, a 10-minute quick charge will give you up to 60 minutes of audio playback. The WH-CH710N headphones come in blue, white and black, and are priced at US$199.99.
