Some Google Pixel 3 XL owners are complaining about a buzzing sound coming from the speakers

Early adopters of Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have already run into a number of worrying issues with their phones, including reports of memory management problems. Now, a new buzzing sound coming from the speaker seems to be affecting some users.

Multiple people on Twitter and Reddit are describing a random static, buzzing, or distorted sound emanating from the lower speaker. The issue seems to be confined to just the larger Pixel 3 XL.

According to Nick Shaw and others on Twitter, certain notifications sounds, songs, and videos are able to trigger this buzzing sound. Redditor u/qtpa2tnh tested further and suggests that low-to-mid-range frequencies are especially problematic (between 20-500Hz).

While some people claim this is a problem they need to deal with every day, others say the buzzing comes and goes, while at least one person says it seems to have disappeared since first cropping up.

As Google has yet to issue a statement about the problem, it's unclear if the problem is hardware or software-related but at least a few users have already RMA'd their phones.
