Snow Bros. is a franchise not many people might've heard of, but it's one that has its fans, and a history that spans 30 odd years, beginning with the first platforming arcade game in 1990. Although it saw a remake in 2022 with Snow Bros. Nick and Tom Special, it hasn't received new content since 1994's Snow Bros. 2.

That changes with the release of Snow Bros. Wonderland, the latest installment in the franchise, and the first one in decades to feature new and original content. The game's story reflects the real-life dormancy of the series, with the titular snowmen brothers, Nick and Tom, awakening after a nearly 30-year slumber, to fight The Great King of Evil and bring peace to Snow Land.

Unlike the previous entries in the series, which were 2D platformers, Snow Bros. Wonderland takes on a different look, featuring 3D isometric stages. The brothers' signature snowball powers have been retained, and can be used for both attack and puzzle-solving elements, along with being able to be chained together. Keeping in line with its arcade origins, Snow Bros. Wonderland can also be played as a party game, supporting up to 4-player couch co-op.

The game is being published by Clear River Games, a publisher that deals mainly in retro and retro-inspired titles, and developed by Tatsujin, a studio led mainly by former staff of Snow Bros.'s original makers, Toaplan.

Snow Bros. Wonderland is now available digitally on PS4 & PS5 (for S$42.68), Nintendo Switch (for US$29.99) and PC via Steam (for S$26, but there's a 40% discount on there right now as well). A physical edition for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch are also available, but unfortunately are only sold in UK stores.
