Singtel's Surf School makes digital parenting easy with Qustodio app

Singtel's new Surf School initiative aims to make it safer for children to use the Internet without exposing them to undesirable content or risking them forming an addiction.

The Qustodio parental control app is at the heart of Singtel's initiative and offers a powerful all-in-one solution that lets you set healthy screen time limits on multiple devices, filter inappropriate content (even in incognito mode), monitor time spent on social networks, track app activity from a user-friendly dashboard and restrict the use of certain apps (e.g. gaming). You can also track your child’s location and he/she can set off Panic Alerts in the event of an emergency.

Qustodio is available to download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for free, but to use all of the above features you'll need a premium subscription. Fortunately, Singtel has tied up with Qustodio and is offering subscriptions for as low as S$5.90/month with no contract required. This is actually slightly cheaper than the app's own US$54.95/year base subscription model.

Singtel is also offering a special bundle promotion on its other services when you sign up for Qustodio. Share your data, talktime and SMS bundle with your child with MobileShare and get 50% off (usual price: S$10.70) when you sign up for Qustodio, or sign up for 12 months of Spotify Premium and Qustodio for just S$9.90/month (usual price: S$13.80).
