As the official network partner of Grand Prix Season Singapore 2022 (GPSS), Singtel will be using its 5G network to power several F1 activities for its local subscribers.

Having achieved its 5G coverage goal of 95% nationwide coverage three years early, Singtel will be applying network slicing technology to support its digital app marketplace, CAST so that fans will be able to watch the entire race over the app as it streams over Singtel’s 5G network.

Network slicing allows a telco a new way of specifying services and delivering them in a flexible, agile, and automated way. A network slice can be dedicated to one enterprise customer, or shared by multiple tenants. A slice may consist of dedicated radio, transport and core resources including a dedicated user plane function at the edge.

Singtel will be using network slicing to create additional capacity to cater to the high-definition content that will be streaming over the CAST app.

With Sports Plus on Singtel CAST, race fans will be able to catch the night race from wherever they are, even around the high-traffic areas of the circuit, where over 250,000 spectators are expected.

Sports Plus on Singtel CAST, is available for S$9.90 for the week or S$19.90 for the month for customers to enjoy the race on their 5G mobile devices. To find out more about and Sports Plus, visit

Singtel’s 5G network can deliver 5G speeds up to 1.2Gbps, and spans more than 1,300 outdoor and 400 in-building locations, as well as underground. And Singtel is bringing more 5G experiences beyond the F1 track and the Marina Bay area.

A Singtel 5G Experience booth, is open daily from 11 am to 10 pm in front of Ngee Ann City from 23 September to 2 October.  Visitors will be able to play in an immersive 3D augmented reality race simulator, showcasing the high-speed, ultra-low latency advantages of 5G. The first 100 visitors to the booth who share a photo of their experience on their social platforms with the hashtag #Singtel5GEverywhere stand to walk away with exclusive 5G merchandise.

There will be live broadcasts and updates from MediaCorp over Singtel’s 5G network instead of local area network cables or Wi-Fi.

At *SCAPE, visitors can try the Teleios Next-Gen Racing Simulators which feature actual training scenarios used by F1 drivers and will be powered by Singtel 5G.

The #Singapore GP Roving Truck has been broadcasting some F1 races from this season since July. The truck will be at One Kampong Glam on 27 and 28 September, from 4pm to 10pm.
