Singtel wants to get more subscribers hooked onto their video-on-demand streaming service, HOOQ, by introducing data plans for their prepaid mobile line users. By getting the packages below, customers using their prepaid card line can watch Filipino, Hindi, Tamil, and Indonesian movies and television series at their own pace, one month at a time.

  • 7-Day Value 1GB S$7 Data Plan
  • 30-Day Super 1GB S$10 Data Plan
  • 30-Day Super 3GB S$20 Data Plan
  • 30-Day Super 5GB S$30 Data Plan

Getting any of the plans above you will net the user a complimentary HOOQ account with an automatic extension to their HOOQ subscription at no charge. Prepaid users of Singtel can purchase the plans via hi!Account, or by dialing *100 or *363. This mobile data promotion ends on 31st January 2017.

According to their FAQ, a low-quality video streamed from HOOQ would set you back by 300MB per hour, while a medium and high quality would eat up 800MB and 1GB per hour, respectively.

HOOQ is a streaming service that offers more than 20,000 titles to Asia-based audiences – it’s a start-up by Singtel, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros., having just arrived in Singapore last week. The HOOQ app is available on both iOS and Android app stores.

If you want streamed shows using a Singtel postpaid line, try Singtel’s Cast instead.
