Singtel and Tuas Power partner up to offer Singtel Power home electricity plans

Singtel has officially partnered Tuas Power to offer home electricity plans. The partnership sees new price plans and promotions for Singtel Power, the telco's home electricity product and services arm.

“We are pleased to join hands with Tuas Power to provide Singapore households with more value and choice, as well as a reliable and trusted retail electricity experience. We have been steadily expanding our range of home services with power and home insurance and will continue to co-create innovative products and services for our customers,” said Mr Goh Seow Eng, Managing Director of Home, Consumer Singapore, Singtel.

"This is an exciting phase for us. At Tuas Power, customers’ convenience is our top priority. Our partnership with Singtel will extend our reach to more consumers who can conveniently sign up and enjoy savings with our different electricity plans," said Mr Michael Wong, Chief Operating Officer, Tuas Power.

Currently, Singtel Power offers three types of electricity plans:

  • PowerFIX 6 Care: a six-month renewable contract on a fixed price plan lower than prevailing regulated tariff at renewal (offered at launch: S$0.1672/kWh)
  • PowerFIX 24: a 24-month renewable contract on a fixed price plan lower than prevailing regulated tariff at renewal (offered at launch: S$0.1798/kWh)
  • PowerFIX 36: a 36-month renewable contract on a fixed price plan lower than prevailing regulated tariff at renewal (offered at launch: S$0.1798/kWh)

According to Singtel, the current regulated tariff for electricity is S$0.2293/kWh.

From now until 10 January 2021, online sign-ups for PowerFIX 24 comes with a S$110 bill rebate, while online sign-ups for PowerFIX 36 comes with the first month of electricity waived.

Additionally, new Singtel Power users signing up for a new Singtel Fibre Broadband will receive an additional S$50 Singtel Broadband bill rebate.

In 2018, Singapore's Energy Market Authority opened up the local electricity market, resulting in retail power providers partnering with various entities to offer competitive home electricity rates. Singtel's previous electricity partner for Singtel Power was Geneco.
