Singapore gamer Ho Kun Xian, 22 (DM MCZ | Xian), won the Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition championship at Evo 2013 in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Using Gen, an unconventional character choice, Xian dominated Japan's Hajime 'Tokido' Taniguchi, who was playing as Akuma. Xian won three straight games to beat Taniguchi, almost clinching a 'perfect' score in one of the rounds. This is the first time a Singaporean has taken the championship at Evo, however this is not the first time Xian has captured the crown.

Xian took first place in Canada Cup 2012 for SSF4 Arcade Edition singles and King of Fighter XIII singles, in which he beat the famous Japanese player Mago. He also defeated well-known Japanese Street Fighter player Daigo Umehara in the South East Asia Major: Road to Evolution 2012.
