Singapore Airlines is extending Krisflyer Elite and PPS Club statuses for 12 months

Frequent flyers rejoice, Singapore Airlines has announced that it will be extending Krisflyer Elite and PPS statues for a year.

In an email to Krisflyer members, Goh Choon Phong, the CEO of Singapore Airlines writes:

I would also like to share that we will automatically renew all KrisFlyer Elite and PPS Club membership statuses for another 12 months at the end of your respective membership year.

He further adds:

This is a small token of our appreciation for your loyalty and support, which we value greatly as we work hard to get through this outbreak.

This applies to all Krisflyer Elite Silver, Elite Gold, PPS Club, and Solitaire PPS Club memberships that are expiring between March 2020 and February 2021.

In addition, any Elite Gold and PPS Rewards that are due to expire between July 2020 and December 2020 will now be extended until 31st March 2021.

This applies to the following Rewards:

  • Double KrisFlyer Miles Reward
  • Short-haul Advance Upgrade
  • Premium Economy Advance Upgrade

As for Krisflyer miles are that expiring, there's still no word yet if they will be extended. If you have miles that are expiring, it might be worth paying to have them extended or you might end up losing them.

All things considered, it's a nice gesture by Singapore Airlines, which, surely, has to be one of the companies hardest hit by the ongoing pandemic.

In late March, the company announced that it will be grounding 138 out of its 147 planes.
