Local IT products distributor Ban Leong Technologies has launched curated IT hampers for shoppers, who are short on gift ideas. Their hampers have four broad categories, which are Ultimate, Essential, Ingenuity and Vitality. The Essential hamper is priced at S$98, and the most expensive is the Ultimate hamper that has a price tag of S$258. In fact, all their prices end with the auspicious number 8 as the Ingenuity hamper costs S$158, while the Vitality hamper will set you back by S$228.

Each hamper category is subdivided by tenuous, and somewhat “traditional” notions of gender color preferences. For example, the Essential hamper consists of 6 items that include a Cooler Master Notepal CMC3 and a Tylt Syncable-Duo cable; for the masculine Essential hamper, the Syncable-Duo cable is black, while the feminine version of Essential, the very same data and sync cable comes in red. This subdivision along gender lines apply to all hamper categories, but only for a handful of items.

In a nutshell, Ban Leong has curated a boatload of IT products, bunched them into gift categories that have auspicious-sounding price points, i.e., all ending with number ‘8’; not to mention each gift category has been sub-divided along “traditional” notions of gender color preferences. You can pre-order the IT hampers online now, and have them delivered, for a fee of S$10. If you decide to scrimp on delivery fees, please head over to Ban Leong’s office at No. 150, Ubi Avenue 4, #04-1 Singapore 408825, for self collection. Do check out Ban Leong’s online store for more details. So what are you w8ting for?
