Sharp's Cube Air Purifier cleans your air - and no one else's

Sharp Cube Air Purifier (IG-EX20B-B).

With 75% of employees returning to the office near the start of this month, one can never be too sure if your counterparts have been staying safe after all these months of remote working. That's when a personal air purifier that reduces moulds and viruses (including the SARS-CoV-2 responsible for COVID-19) come in handy.

Sharp officially launched the new Cube Air Purifier (IG-EX20B-B) today (12 April 2021). The purifier fits tabletops, closets, and cabinets at 90 x 90 x 95mm, and is capable of clearing out moulds and viruses thanks to its built-in Sharp Plasmacluster technology. At full power, it emits up to 50,000 ions, limiting the amount of airborne and adhering mould, odours, viruses, and bacteria by up to 99% in minutes (sometimes in a matter of hours for the more stubborn lot, like mould).

While its official product page doesn't quite state the effective airspace it clears, we know that the Sharp Cube Air Purifier has three power settings - low, medium and full, at 2.1W, 2.4W, and 3.1W, respectively. It's also incredibly light at just 315g, and it can be powered with a simple USB cable (DC 5V/1A). If cabled power isn't an option, the Sharp Cube Air Purifier also accepts battery power.

Other cleansing properties of the Sharp Cube Air Purifier include the suppression of allergens like dust mites (both their boogers and remains) and the reduction of static electricity. We believe this has to do with Sharp's use of ionisation for cleaner air, which makes it excellent if you're facing people you've not met in a while.

The Sharp Cube Air Purifier officially retails at Sharp's online store and other authorised dealers for S$299.
