There’s really no such thing as too much detail, and Sharp (now owned by Foxconn) intends to prove that with its 27-inch 8K IGZO monitor, which it showcased at CEATEC Japan several days ago.

Not only does this display have a native 8K resolution (7,680 x 4,320), it also offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and supports HDR.

Unfortunately, because the amount of resolution is so high, this super-dense 326ppi screen requires multiple display inputs to properly drive an image. There's no doubt that quite a bit of electronics are in there, which explains the bump you see at the back of the display.

As of now, this 27-inch 8K display is still a prototype, and there’s no official word if or when it would come to market.
