Sennheiser drops new IE 300 IEMs for discerning listeners on the go

The IE 300 is Sennheiser's latest high-fidelity in-ear headphones for discerning listeners who want, no, demand, high-quality audio no matter where they are.

Despite their small size, they pack a lot of technology and features. A highlight is the 7mm XWB (Extra Wide Band) transducer that uses a newly developed membrane foil for low distortion. 

This is paired with a acoustic back chambers that have designed to remove masking resonances for more refined highs, and vents to disperse air and reduce pressure build-up and other unwanted resonances.

Sennheiser claims total harmonic distortion figures of less than 0.08% at 1kHz, 94dB and also says that the drivers are assembled in Germany.

The company also spent a lot of time thinking about the cable. The IE 300 feature detachable cables uses specially selected gold-plated MMCX connectors from Delta Electronics. They were chosen for their performance and durability. The cable themselves are reinforced with para-aramid for stability and durability. 

As for accessories, each Sennheiser IE 300 will come with a carrying case, three sizes of silicone ear tips, and three sizes of memory foam ear tips. 

I had a quick listen to the IE 300 and I was impressed. Comfort was good and despite the small size, the IE 300 sounded full-bodied and powerful. I will need more time to evaluate them properly but they sounded very promising.

The Sennheiser IE 300 will be available in Singapore from 19 Jan 2021 and will be priced at S$449. You will be able to find them on the Sennheiser Online Store and the Sennheiser Flagship Store on Lazada.
