Secretlab’s new SoftWeave fabric chairs look super cool and stylish

Secretlab Titan Softweave

Secretlab is introducing a new woven fabric covering for its line of popular gaming chairs. Dubbed SoftWeave, the material is inspired by streetwear and designed to be lightweight, breathable, and long-lasting.

It is made from 350gsm short-yarn and finished with a grinding process that Secretlab says gives it a softer and fluffier texture. I got to check out the chairs briefly for myself, and I can say that they feel quite comfortable. In fact, I prefer them to the PU leather chairs as something about the fabric just feels more premium.

Compared to PU leather, fabric will probably be more breathable and comfortable after long hours. It also addresses one of the main complaints around PU leather, which may crack and peel if not properly maintained.

Fabric won’t give you any of those issues, and it’s also a better choice if you’ve got cats or dogs around the house that like to claw at your furniture. That said, it’s not for messy eaters though as it’ll obviously soak up spills more readily than leather.

But practical considerations aside, one of the main draws will be their more striking visual appeal. With colors like Cookies and Cream, Charcoal, and Coal Pink, they’re shaping up to be a good fit for someone who wants a more eye-catching design.

The new design also just feels more refreshing, and it’ll help the chairs stand out in a saturated market.

However, while SoftWeave will be available for the Throne, Omega, and Titan, certain colorways will be restricted to specific models. Here’s an overview of their prices and available colors:

  • Secretlab Throne 2018 in Coal Pink (S$429)
  • Secretlab Omega 2018 in Charcoal/Cookies and Cream (S$499)
  • Secretlab Titan in Cookies and Cream (S$579)
