Seagate’s new Joy drive will bring smiles to Android phones users

If you can’t spare time to backup your smartphone data, now you can do so every time you charge your device with Seagate’s new Joy Drive. Designed as a power bank and media storage in one unit, it seems only logical to automatically backup your data every time you charge your device.

The Joy Drive has an integrated micro-USB cable with a USB Type-C adapter, so you never need to drag a spare cable along. Everything you need, including the adaptor, is part of the default package and integrated with the drive design. An additional plus point to the Joy Drive is that you can manage your media files without Wi-Fi connectivity – just plug-n-play.

Note the integrated data connectivity cable with USB Type-C adapter included.

The Joy Drive comes in only one storage size now – 1TB (HDD), and it includes a two-year warranty too.

There is one catch though. China will be the first to benefit from the Joy Drive as it’s a collaboration between Seagate and JD.com (China’s largest online retailer). Seagate hasn’t ruled out that the Joy Drive will see availability in other markets in the future. For now, the Joy Drive is slated to go on sale on JD.com in March 2018 for a street price of 660 CNY (US$99).
