SanDisk has a prototype flash drive with 4TB of storage

SanDisk is giving us a glimpse of the future of USB flash drives at CES 2019.

The company has just showed off a prototype flash drive the size of regular USB flash drives that can hold an amazing 4TB of data. Just imagine the amount of stuff you could store on it.

No specifics were given about the drive so we have no idea what flash storage it uses or what kinds of speeds it can achieve.

However, what we can say is that the drive is really small - it will easily fit into your pocket or you can tie it to your keys like a keychain.

It uses USB-C and SanDisk has thoughtfully integrated a USB-C cable into the drive to make it easy for it to connect to devices.

As I said, it's a prototype so no word on pricing and availability. But considering that a 2TB portable SSD drive costs nearly S$2,000, don't expect this drive to come cheap if it does ever go to market.
