SanDisk Announces 'World's First' 256GB CF Card

SanDisk has just announced a 256GB CompactFlash card, double the storage of the previous model. The new Extreme Pro card can write at speeds of 65MB/s and transfer at speeds up to 160MB/s. It also has a VPG-65 Video Performance Guarantee, which ensures that the card can record at 65MB/s for 4K video recording.

The new Extreme Pro card is also durability tested against shock and vibration, and can operate in temperatures from -13 degrees F (-25 degress C) to 185 degrees F (85 degrees C). The new 256GB card is double the capacity of the previous card, and all existing Extreme Pro CF cards have also been updated to feature read speeds of up to 160MB/s and write speeds of up to 150MB/s (speeds vary depending on each capacity), as well as the same VPG-65 Video Performance Guarantee.

The SanDisk Extreme Pro CF cards come in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB and are now shipping worldwide.
