It's close to a year since Samsung launched its premium flagship Galaxy Tab S tablets and it seems that the Korean company is preparing to launch their successors.

According to @OnLeaks, Samsung will be releasing a 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 device which is inspired from the design of the Galaxy S6 smartphone. It is also said to measure just 5.8 or 5.9mm thin. Along with the specs leak is a press render of the alleged Galaxy Tab S2.

The Galaxy Tab S2 appears to sport a metallic frame, a physical home button (which may double as a fingerprint sensor), power key, volume rocker, microSD and SIM-card slots on the right side. Rumored specs include Super AMOLED displays with resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels, 64-bit octa-core Exynos chipset, 3GB RAM, a minimum of 32GB internal storage and CAT 6 LTE support.

The current Galaxy Tab S tablets come in 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch variants. Both tablets are equipped with ultra-high resolution displays (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) and measure just 6.6mm thin. Can the upcoming Galaxy Tab S2 tablets be as impressive as the Galaxy S6 models? We shall see.
