Samsung's Exynos processors to power Audi's in-vehicle infotainment systems
Samsung's semiconductor business is expected to get a boost from the partnership with German automobile maker Audi.
In a press release, Samsung officially confirmed its participation in the Audi Progressive Semiconductor Program (PSCP) where its flagship Exynos processors will be used in Audi's next generation In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems.
The Exynos processors are capable of simultaneously operating up to four different domains and displays stationed in the vehicle. The chipsets' powerful computing and graphics performance will also offer highly graphical user interface on displays for better user engagement.
Although Samsung did not reveal when the Exynos processors will start powering the IVI systems, industry sources expect Audi to start using them in 2019.
