Samsung tipped to unveil Galaxy Buds Pro alongside Galaxy S21 in Jan

Samsung has a track record of launching new earbuds alongside its flagship Galaxy phone, like the Galaxy Buds with the Galaxy S10, Galaxy Buds+ with the Galaxy S20 and the most recent Galaxy Buds Live with the Note 20.

As such, for the upcoming Galaxy S21, which is widely rumoured to launch in Jan 2021, there’s likely going to be another new set of Galaxy earbuds. According to SamMobile, that will be the Galaxy Buds Pro, an in-ear TWS earbuds with a design closer to the Buds+ than the open-type Buds Live.

Bearing the model number SM-R190, the new Galaxy Buds Pro has reportedly been certified by Indonesia’s telecommunications regulatory body, Korea’s NRRA and China’s 3C (via MySmartPrice). While the Pro earbuds look largely the same as their Plus predecessor, SamMobile reveals that the new earbuds will sport better sound, an improved Ambient mode and active noise cancellation.

The inclusion of ANC on the Galaxy Buds Pro isn’t a surprise, though. While this feature is already present on the Galaxy Buds Live, the bean-shaped earbuds with their unique form factor and priority (read: comfort) are never meant to be the Buds+’s successor.

The last tidbit is that the Pro earbuds will come with a charging case with a 472mAh battery. That’s the same capacity as the battery in the Buds Live’s case.
