Samsung sold at least 400,000 units of the Galaxy Fold in 2019

Samsung sold at least 400,000 units of the Galaxy Fold in 2019

Following an erroneous claim by Samsung President Young Sohn on the sales numbers of the Galaxy Fold, the company has provided a more accurate estimate.

Koh Dong-jin, President of Samsung's IT and Mobile Communications Division, revealed last week that the company sold 400,000 to 500,000 Galaxy Fold smartphones in 2019. This is a modest achievement for Samsung, given the various durability issues that surfaced before the initial launch of the Galaxy Fold and its ultra-premium price tag.

Samsung is expected to launch a foldable clamhsell phone alongside the Galaxy S20 series on 11 February in San Francisco. The foldable clamshell phone is said to be the first in the world to use an ultra-thin glass display.
