Samsung Singapore is offering a free screen protector application service for customers who bought its Galaxy Z Flip phone

Back in March, I asked Samsung if it’s bringing the free screen protector service for the Galaxy Z Flip (our review here) that’s running in other countries such as the U.S. and Hong Kong to Singapore. At the time, the answer was something along the lines of ‘service availability depends on markets, we’ve nothing to announce now’.

Turns out, this service is coming to Singapore. According to this new support document, if your Galaxy Z Flip doesn’t come with a screen protector in its original packaging (since when did this happen?), you can request Samsung for a free one-time screen protector application service.

This service is for all new and existing local Galaxy Z Flip customers but you must request it within 12 months from your date of purchase. Only the first screen protector is free; any additional application will be charged at S$11.95.

Also, this service is available at all Samsung Customer Service Centres. But please book an appointment via the Samsung Members app or though At Your Service before heading down.

Alternatively, you may use your Galaxy Z Premier Service entitlements and ask Samsung to pick up the phone at your place and deliver it back to you when the application is done. However, due to Covid–19, this service is suspended until further notice.

Finally, while Samsung notes that the TPU-based screen protector shouldn’t cause any screen damage during removal, it will not be held responsible if you were to remove or reapply it and damage the screen yourself. If you’ve any issues after the application, it’s best to return to any Samsung Customer Service Centre within seven days for a complimentary replacement.

In other related news, the Galaxy Z Flip Thom Browne Edition will be available in Singapore come Jun 13, at a suggested retail price of S$3,388. Only 200 sets are brought in and pre-sales will begin earlier on Jun 2 for UOB Reserve, Privilege Banking, Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Metal credit cardmembers and Club21 members.
