Samsung’s new ViewFinity monitors bring massive, glare-free IPS displays in 4K to creative professionals
Samsung Electronics announced the global launch of the ViewFinity S8 series monitors (model name S80PB) for content creators, graphic designers and every other creative professional in between.
Samsung ViewFinity S8 are 4K UHD monitors (3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution) that come in two sizes: 32-inch and 27-inch. These monitors use IPS panels with 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and VESA DisplayHDR 600 support for the 32-inch model (HDR400 for the 27-inch variant).
More importantly, the monitors are already accredited with a bunch of certifications important to creative professionals. For example, it’s the world’s first UL-certified Glare Free monitor, offering reduced light reflection even without a monitor hood. The certification also guarantees wider viewing angles (178° horizontally and vertically). It’s also certified by Pantone, meaning that the ViewFinity S8 screens can accurately reproduce more than 2,000 colours – including the 110 skin tone shades in the Pantone SkinTone Guide.
As a monitor, both variants offer a variety of ports: one DisplayPort, one HDMI, one USB-C, and one USB 3.0. In addition, the monitors can be wall-mounted (100 x 100) and pack a height-adjustable stand within.
The new monitors are slated for global release from June 2022 onwards, although specific dates and prices for each region have not yet been determined.
