Samsung’s Galaxy S20 and Z Flip are starting to get One UI 2.5

Samsung has started to roll out One UI 2.5 to the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Z Flip LTE in the U.S., according to SamMobile.

First to appear on the new Galaxy Note 20 series, the One UI 2.5 updates for the S20 and Z Flip will bring many (but not all, due to hardware differences) features on the Note 20 to these early 2020 phones.

For the Galaxy S20, the more noteworthy features this update brings include:

  • Pro Video mode that allows 8K @ 24fps, 21:9 aspect ratio shooting, mic direction control
  • Audio Bookmark that synchronises notes with audio recordings
  • Updated Samsung Notes that lets you import and write on PDF files and add handwritten text to typed documents. There’s also support for auto save & sync and new template and background colour options
  • Wireless Samsung DeX for connecting to a smart TV, with support for multi-finger gestures
  • Advanced Wi-Fi connectivity that lets you share Wi-Fi passwords with nearby Galaxy devices; also displays network quality
  • Updated Reminder app that allows time and location presets

The Galaxy Z Flip will get most of the above, with the exception of wireless DeX (it doesn’t support wired DeX anyway). There’s also Bitmoji stickers support for the Always On Display — which may be a Flip-exclusive, according to SamMobile.

Other Galaxy devices that are confirmed to get One UI 2.5 include the S10, S9, Note 10, Note 9 and Fold series.
