A trusted source revealed to BGR that Samsung may be launching a tablet with high resolution display at Mobile World Congress 2012 in February. The tablet is said to have the following specifications:

  • 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Dual-core Exynos 5250 CPU clocked at 2GHz
  • Android Beam
  • Special wireless docking mode for gaming on HDTVs

Despite having a larger display, the source claimed that it will be "barely larger" than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Furthermore, the new tablet reportedly sports a smaller bezel, which could see a similar dimension to its predecessor. If the information turns out to be true, we are looking at the first 11.6-inch tablet when tablets today come in different screen sizes ranging from 7-inch to 10.1-inch.

We also are expecting the Samsung tablet to go head-to-head against the upcoming Apple iPad 3, which is also rumored to be equipped with a Retina display, and the alleged HTC quad-core tablet powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 3 quad-core processor.
