Samsung could be developing its own chipsets for phones and computers.

Several industry sources told Korean publication site Pulse that Samsung has established an internal team to focus on CPU core development. One of the team lead members is reportedly a senior developer from AMD.

A next-generation chipset is said to be in the works for the Galaxy flagship series. The first chip is believed to be called Galaxy Chip, and could launch in 2025. The Galaxy chip is likely to use a CPU based on ARM technology. INews24 has a similar report in April 2022 where Samsung's mobile chief Roh Tae-moon says the company "will make an AP unique to the Galaxy".

By developing its own chipset for phones and computers, Samsung hopes to reduce its reliance on ARM and improve optimisation for its devices.
