Samsung releases Android 9.0 Pie update roadmap in Members app

The Samsung Galaxy Note9.

While four countries have already rolled out Android 9.0 Pie update for the Galaxy S9, the majority of the users are expected to receive it sometime in January 2019.

Posted as a notice in its Members app, Samsung highlights the Android 9.0 update roadmap for its Galaxy devices. The first Galaxy phones to get the update will be the Galaxy S9/S9+ in January 2019, followed by the Galaxy Note9 in February 2019. The Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note8 are slated to receive the update in March 2019. As for the rest of the devices, the roll-out months are: 

  • Galaxy A8/A8+ (2018) - April 2019
  • Galaxy A7 (2018) - April 2019 
  • Galaxy A9 (2018) - April 2019 
  • Galaxy Tab S4 10.5 - April 2019 
  • Galaxy J4/J4+/J6/J6+ - May 2019 
  • Galaxy A8 Star - May 2019 
  • Galaxy J7 (2017) - July 2019 
  • Galaxy J7 Duo - August 2019 
  • Galaxy Xcover4 - September 2019
  • Galaxy J3 (2017) - September 2019
  • Galaxy Tab S3 9.7 - September 2019 
  • Galaxy Tab A (2017) - October 2019 
  • Galaxy Tab Active2 - October 2019 
  • Galaxy Tab A 10.5 - October 2019 

It's going to be a long wait of almost a year for some devices such as the Galaxy Tab A (2017) and Galaxy Tab A 10.5. The Galaxy S7/S7 edge are not listed as they have already received two major Android OS updates.
