Samsung to release three Dolby Atmos soundbars this year

The HW-N950 is Samsung's flagship soundbar in 2018. More Atmos soundbars are planned for 2019.

I’ve reported earlier that Samsung has a few QLED 4K TV series this year, namely Q90R, Q70R, and Q60R. What I left out is that the company is coming out with a few soundbars with the same names, too.

In a nutshell, the upcoming Samsung Harman Kardon Q90R is a Dolby Atmos-capable 7.1.4-channel soundbar, not unlike the current HW-N950. It also supports DTS:X, a Game Pro mode for more precise audio positioning when you’re playing games, a new Adaptive Sound feature, as well as 4K passthrough (including HDR10+).

No price is given for the Q90R yet, but I’d guess that it's in the ballpark of the excellent but expensive HW-N950. The good news is, for those looking for something more affordable, Samsung is also coming out with two more Atmos soundbars - the Q80R and Q70R. The former is a 5.1.2-channel package, while the latter is 3.1.2-channel. And finally, there’s the Q60R, which doesn't support Atmos audio, but has the Acoustic Beam tech we saw on the HW-N650 that simulates panoramic sound.

Once again, complete specs and availability info of Samsung’s 2019 soundbars aren't available at the moment. I’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
