Samsung readies first software update for the Galaxy S20 Ultra

According to Tizen Help, Samsung has started to push out a firmware update for its Galaxy S20 Ultra phone in South Korea. Yes — an update for a phone that’s yet to be generally available.

Applicable to only the Ultra version at the moment, the update (version G988NKSU1ATBR) comes in at 418MB and includes optimisations to the camera’s auto flash function. Camera quality is also improved, though it’s unclear exactly which aspect that’s referring to.

The update also includes Android’s March 2020 security patch. All this suggests that there’s likely a day one update waiting for customers who get their phone come March 6.
