Samsung just announced that its Samsung Pay platform has racked up over 5 million registered users and also processed over US$500 million in its first six months. These are pretty encouraging numbers.
For those unfamiliar with Samsung Pay, it's a digital wallet and mobile payment service that lets users pay using their Samsung device or any other compatible device.
It was launched in South Korea in August last year, and in the United States a month later.
According to Samsung, Samsung Pay will be available in China in March this year, followed by Australia, Brazil, Singapore, Spain, the U.K., and also Canada later this year.
In Singapore, Samsung Pay will be supported by OCBC, DBS and Standard Chartered banks.
