With global production of smartphones expected to see its biggest decline in Q2, it's no wonder that phone makers are cutting back on their component orders.

Industry sources told DigiTimes that Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi have reduced their camera lens orders by about 30%, 20-30% and 10-20% respectively for Q2. On the other hand, Huawei has reportedly increased its orders by 5-10%.

The reduced orders will affect camera lens supplier Largan Precision significantly. It reported consolidated revenues of $155 million for April, which is a drop of 14% from March and 6% from the same period a year ago. For May, Largan Precision expects revenues to decline sharply.
