The Samsung Odyssey gaming monitors show off their aggressive curves and futuristic designs

The Samsung Odyssey G9 and G7 gaming monitors sport futuristic designs and boast of an aggressive display curvature of 1,000R for immersive viewing experience! On first impressions, we are reminded of the 49-inch Samsung C49HG90 that’s also a curved gaming display. However, the new Odyssey gaming monitors still stand out for their display curvature.

The new Odyssey gaming monitor series is spearheaded by the 49-inch Odyssey G9. It's joined by the Odyssey G7, which comes in two display sizes, i.e., 27- and 32-inch. Both monitors sport QLED display panels; the Odyssey G9 boasts of a resolution of 5,120- by 1,440-pixel (Dual QHD) and a super ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio. The G7 sports a QHD resolution (2,560- by 1,440-pixel), with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

The Odyssey gaming monitors are NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync 2 compatible; they also share the same 240Hz refresh rate as well as a 1ms response time. In terms of futuristic design features, the G9 sports Infinity Core Lighting effects in 52 colours and 5 modes, while the G7 has Core Lighting. The LED lighting feature is housed in a rear circular recess of their displays.

The Odyssey G9 comes in pristine white while the Odyssey G7 comes in black. Pricing and availability details have not been released for all three monitors.
