Samsung might not release the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE this year

Samsung is no longer expected to launch a FE variant of the Galaxy Z Fold6 this year.

Samsung might not be releasing a FE variant of the Galaxy Z Fold6 this year.

South Korean news site TheElec claims that Samsung is reassessing its plans to bring the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE to the market due to three factors.

In terms of design, the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE is reportedly thicker than the other foldable phones from Chinese brands. It also lacks support for S Pen, which is a key differentiator for Samsung Galaxy flagship phones. Last, but not least, market fluctuations forced Samsung to push back the launch.

Rumours surfaced last year that more affordable Galaxy Z Fold devices were in the pipeline, which led to Samsung stepping forward to debunk them as "groundless".

A new rumour came out two months ago stating that Samsung is working on an "entry-level foldable phone" that could be cheaper than the Galaxy S24. Another report indicates that Samsung might target the higher-end market segment with an Ultra model for the Galaxy Z series.

TheElec concluded its report by sharing that Samsung will continue to work on more affordable variants of the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold for release in 2025.
