Samsung quietly announced its latest Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a slightly smaller TFT display at 10.4-inches and a display resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels. It is equipped with an octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage space with microSD support up to 1TB. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab S6 has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display (2,560 x 1600 pixels), Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage space with microSD support up to 1TB.

Other specs include S Pen support, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 7,040mAh battery and One UI 2.0 based on Android 10.

29 April 2020 Update: Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite - the smaller and lighter version of the Android-based Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 tablet - will be available in Singapore from 2 May 2020 onwards. The model available here would be the 128GB, Wi-Fi version.

It is available exclusively through Challenger and its online store Hachi.Tech at a recommended retail price of S$598. If you're getting it anytime soon, the online store is your only option given that the physical outlets are closed until 1 June 2020 because of CB measures.

If you're a ValueClub Student member (Challenger's loyalty and rewards programme), the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite can be yours for S$498, which is S$100 below the official retail price. Students with valid @edu.sg email accounts can register for ValueClub Student membership, and membership will be free for 12 months if you've not registered before.

Samsung has partnered with YouTube, offering up to four months of free YouTube Premium to new subscribers on the Samsung tablet. Samsung also partnered up with Spotify, having integrated the streaming service into the tablet's UI and search parameters itself.

Accessories for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, like the Targus Slim Keyboard Cover (S$168), S Pen in Gray (S$88), and KDLab Core Tempered Glass Screen Protect (S$38) will be available at a later date.
