Samsung Launches Galaxy Tab 3 Kids

Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, a tablet built specifically for children with pre-installed educational apps and extra safety features, including a Kids Grip Cover Kit with a child friendly grip and multiple stand options and an easy-to-grip C Pen.

“Nowadays, kids are using technology more than ever before, for play and for learning,” said Irene Ng, Vice-President, Marketing, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd. “We identified the need for kids to have better learning tools so we created a device just for kids that provide them with an intuitive, fun and kid-friendly user experience filled with rich, interactive and educational content that also lets parents share and participate in the learning journey.”

Apps included with the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids include:

  • Toca Hair Salon 2
  • Pettson’s Inventions 2
  • Kids WORLD
  • Farm 123
  • Skoolbo Core Skills

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids also includes a Time Manager feature that allows parents to set specific time periods for use. When the designated use time is up, a password protected lock screen appears, requiring a parent or adult to enter the password to unlock the device. The device also includes a Standard Mode that turns the tablet into a normal tablet for parents to use.

The device is armed with a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, and will be available from 16th November 2013 at S$388 at Toys"R"Us, Popular book stores, major consumer electronics and IT stores, and Samsung Experience Stores.
