Samsung Gaming Hub lets Smart TV owners stream Xbox Game Pass and Nvidia GeForce Now games at no extra cost
Samsung launched a new Samsung Gaming Hub feature for its Smart TV and Smart Monitor products, allowing Samsung users to stream video games without a gaming console or gaming PC.
According to its official statement, the Samsung Gaming Hub acts as a game streaming discovery platform, where users can rely on existing accessories (like Bluetooth headsets and controllers) to stream high-quality games from its many partners.
Currently partnered industry titans include Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Google Stadia, Utomik, and Amazon Luna (coming soon). As a built-in service on Samsung’s Smart TVs that runs on Tizen, Samsung Gaming Hub does not require additional hardware (like a gaming console or PC), nor does it require additional fees.
All the users pay for are the cloud gaming subscriptions, like Xbox Game Pass and Nvidia GeForce Now. Oh, and for the TV, of course.
According to Samsung, the new feature is possible thanks to Samsung’s faster decoding and buffer control technology that helps to reduce input lag by 30%. These optimisations are applied on both its new Smart TVs and Smart Monitors.
Like all good things, the Samsung Gaming Hub has a few caveats. First, you’ll have to make sure the Samsung TV is one of the compatible ones listed on its official website. Also, the launch of this service is currently limited to a few starting countries, namely the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Korea, and Brazil. We’ll update here if we hear any news for our region.
