Samsung might not equip the Galaxy Z Fold5 with an important feature.
According to ETNews, Samsung reportedly decided against adding the S Pen slot on the Galaxy Z Fold5 due to design constraints. Apparently, Samsung felt the S Pen slot could increase the thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold5. In addition, a source claims the new hinge structure on the Galaxy Z Fold5 resulted in lesser internal space to house the S Pen.
While Samsung has explored the possibility of designing a thinner S Pen, it could end up delivering a poor user experience. Nonetheless, Samsung is said to be working on a thinner design for the S Pen which is unlikely to be in time for the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold5.
Samsung has added the S Pen slot on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra. It could take at least a year before consumers see a built-in S Pen slot on the Galaxy Z Fold series.
