Purported renders of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra reveal no surprises
The first purported renders of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have been revealed by tipster @OnLeaks and @SmartPrix.
Based on the renders, the Galaxy S24 Ultra looks very similar to the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, there are subtle changes. The screen bezel is said to be thinner than before and Samsung appears to be doing away with a curved display.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra depicted in the renders seem to have a flat display, which was also recently reported by @UniverseIce and Digital Chat Station. There is also an Ultra-Wideband antenna on the right side edge of the device.
In terms of dimensions and weight, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is not very far off from the Galaxy S23 Ultra. That said, rumours say the Galaxy S24 will have a titanium frame, just like Apple's iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
@OnLeaks states the Galaxy S24 Ultra will measure 162.3 x 79 x 8.7mm and weigh 233g. In comparison, the Galaxy S23 Ultra measures 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm and weighs 234g. The 1g difference in weight is likely due to the switch to titanium.
Other rumoured specs include a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support, a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, a peak brightness of 2,200 nits, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 200MP primary camera, and a 50MP 3x telephoto lens.
Samsung is expected to hold the Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2024. However, the Galaxy S24 lineup might not be the star product of the event.
