Samsung Galaxy S24 FE quietly launches in Singapore with tons of pre-launch specials

Samsung quietly announced the new Galaxy S24 FE series with little to no fanfare, sending out its details at midnight on 27 September 2024.

As seen on The Verge, it was initially believed to be a mistake that Samsung was taking pre-orders for the unannounced Galaxy S24 FE. However, Samsung could be favouring a quieter launch over the  Fan Edition fanfare seen in previous years (S23 FE, S21 FE).

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has Galaxy AI

As with FE tradition, the Galaxy S24 FE by Samsung takes the best parts of its flagship Galaxy S24 series smartphones and trims down various components to deliver a more affordable alternative to its over-specced brethren.

That means Samsung Galaxy S24 FE still offers all Galaxy AI features, which has proven to be generally available across their high-end mobile products (the Galaxy S series, and foldable Galaxy Z series)

You can expect Photo Assist features such as Generative Edit, Portrait Studio, Edit Suggestions, and Instant Slow-mo. For productivity, you still get Circle to Search with Google, Interpreter, Live Translate, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and Browsing Assist.

Exynos-powered chipset 

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is powered by a Samsung Exynos 2400e chipset, which is capable of ray-tracing in compatible mobile games. Other features to help maximise its performance include a vapour chamber 1.1x larger than the one inside its predecessor and a bigger 4,700mAh battery (200mAh more than before).

The display is a FHD+ resolution, 6.7-inch adaptive Dynamic AMOLED 2X capable of 120Hz refresh rate, which Samsung said is the largest-ever display used in its FE series.

All Galaxy S24 FE variants pack 8GB RAM, but Singapore will carry both 256GB and 512GB models.

Other specs include up to Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.3, IP68 rating against water and dust, and a whole suite of Samsung protections like Samsung Knox, Auto Blocker, and Passkey.

Triple-rear cameras

Despite its FE designation, Samsung has packed in triple rear cameras for the Galaxy S24 FE. You can expect a 50MP main camera (f/1.8, OIS), paired with a 12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2) and 8MP telephoto that offers 3x optical zoom (f/2.4, OIS).
