Gift for pre-order folks
Interested buyers who pre-ordered the Galaxy S20 phones would be eligible to receive a complimentary set of Galaxy Buds+ (worth S$268), upon full payment for and collection of their pre-order. Those who did so at a Samsung Experience store were able to purchase the Samsung Concierge Care Pack at S$48 that offered a suite of premium value-added services, such as 1-to-1 device exchange within 30 days and 50% savings for a one-time out-of-warranty repair, to provide consumers peace of mind by keeping their Samsung Galaxy device in tip-top condition.
Launch promo gifts this time round
Starting from 6th March, customers can get to enjoy exclusive discounts and additional accessories with purchase of the Galaxy S20 or S20+ depending on certain terms and conditions at purchase and while stocks last.
The general retail freebie bundle of a 256GB microSD card and a wireless charger stand is valued at S$227. While some chatter in our forums mention this being a better freebie set than the pre-order offer that bundled the new wireless Galaxy Buds+, this probably boils down to user preferences. The Galaxy Buds+ are valued at S$268, so the pre-order folks did get a higher-priced product for free. However, we can also see where our forum users are coming from as the microSD card and wireless charger stand are both immediate essentials that have higher usage value (especially since the phones have limited built-in storage) even though the official value is lower.
In addition to the listed freebies in the table above, those who purchase the phone at a Samsung Experience Store or from Samsung's online store will be eligible for 12 months of free Samsung Concierge Service (originally valued at S$128 but is on general promotion at S$48) while other customers who've purchased the Galaxy S20 series through other official means can opt to get the Concierge Service for S$48 by visiting an Experience store.
For those obtaining the phone with a two-year contract via your telco operator, that is via M1, Singtel and StarHub, you can actually get the Galaxy S20+ at the price of a Galaxy 20! You can refer to our telco price plan comparison to see the difference saved across the different plans and who has a better plan from a value perspective. In general, your savings range from S$100 to S$120, but it could go up as high as S$180 in some cases. Combined with the 256GB microSD card that's valued at S$109, your net savings through a telco contract plan ranges from S$209 to S$289.
Where did the Galaxy S20 Ultra's offer go to? Apparently, it's out of stock at the point of writing, but according to Samsung's store page, the freebies offer is equivalent to their other phones - a 256GB microSD card with a wireless charger stand (worth S$227). However, this could be limited to the Samsung Store or it's not updated. Over at the three telcos, there does not seem to be any retail promo and it could be due to the limited stocks. We'll update this space again should the offers change.
