Samsung Galaxy S II Updated with 1.2GHz Processor

2011 is the year of the dual-core smartphones, and Samsung is making it even more exciting with some new developments for its Samsung Galaxy S II. While the dual-core smartphone was originally announced with a 1GHz processor speed, the company has just stated that it will be bumping it further to 1.2GHz.

GSM Arena - The Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II is a pretty powerful beast as it is with its Exynos chipset featuring a dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU and Mali 400 GPU. However Samsung obviously decided 1GHz is not good enough for their flagship so they are adding even more oomph to it.

With this new development, the Galaxy S II departs from the usua1 dual-core 1GHZ processors on smartphone such as the LG Optimus 2X. The question that we would like to have answered, is how the increased speeds will affect the Galaxy S II's overall stamina. We'll only know for sure when we get our hands on a review unit.
