Samsung estimated to ship up to 45 million Galaxy S10 units this year

Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S10 are reportedly doing so well that TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects more units to be sold this year.

In his latest research note, Kuo wrote that the pre-release demand for the Galaxy S10 is better than expected due to product differentiation from the iPhone where Samsung deployed the world’s first ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S10 and S10+, a triple-camera setup and Wireless PowerShare.

Kuo also believed the view on high-end smartphones growth is overly bearish, improvement in Chinese market demand and attractive smartphone trade-in programs helped to increase consumer interest in the Galaxy S10. Kuo initially predicted shipments of 30 to 35 million units, but has revised the figures to be between 40 to 45 million units.

The Galaxy S10 will be available for purchase islandwide starting from today. Do check out our review of the Galaxy S10 and S10+ if either phone is on your shopping list.
