Samsung confirms Galaxy Note 10 and sets 7 August launch date

Note: This article was first published on 2 July 2019.

Samsung has officially announced that its next Unpacked event will take place on 7 August at 4pm (Eastern Time) at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York.

That translates to 8 August, 4am local time. It also means that earlier reports suggesting a 7 August launch date for the Galaxy Note 10 were right.

Additionally, Samsung CEO DJ Koh also revealed during a roundtable event that Samsung's next large smartphone will indeed be called the Note 10.

The Note 10 will be an extremely important launch for Samsung, especially after the whole debacle of the Galaxy Fold.

There's not much to go by at this point, seeing that the registration page only features the image of an S Pen and a camera.

However, the Galaxy Note 10 is rumored to come in two sizes, with one of them possibly supporting 5G like the Galaxy S10 5G.

The new Galaxy Note 10 will also reportedly come with four cameras — one primary lens, one ultra-wide angle lens, one telephoto lens, and another for depth-of-field effects.

There's also talk that Samsung could finally ax the headphone jack on the Note 10.

Also, it will be interesting to see if Samsung uses the opportunity to address the delayed Galaxy Fold.
