Samsung to close its last phone factory in China

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 series.

Four months after cutting production and staff at its last phone factory in China, Samsung has decided to shut it down for good.

Korean news site ChoSun reports that Samsung will be closing the Huizhou factory at the end of the month. The Huizhou factory in Guangdong province started operations in 1992.

Samsung’s shutting down of its last phone factory in China is attributed to the declining market share in the local market, rising labour costs and economic slowdown. The South Korean company will continue to manufacture phones in factories outside of China which include Vietnam and India.
