Samsung’s Galaxy A event unveiled a host of 2022 mid-range options, including the Galaxy A53 5G, Galaxy A33 5G, and Galaxy A13 LTE handsets coming to Singapore. Let’s get into these devices right away.

As the successor to the Galaxy A52 series, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is a return to mid-range components with near-flagship experiences.

Users can expect a typical Samsung One UI 4 experience on this Android 12 mobile. It offers a 6.5-inch, Full HD+ (1080p) Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, backed by Samsung’s Exynos 1280 chipset.

It offers four rear cameras led by a 64MP primary shooter (f/1.8, OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2), a 5MP depth camera (f/2.4) and a 5MP macro camera (f/2.4). The phone offers improved low-light photography thanks to Night Mode, where the Galaxy A53 stacks 12 images to reduce noise and even out the brightness for night shots.

Inside is a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast-charging, making its battery and charging specs par with older Samsung flagship phones. If you’re itching for expandable storage, you’ll be happy to know that Galaxy A53 5G supports up to 1TB via a MicroSD card.

Finally, the phone has IP67 water and dust resistance rating.

Samsung took most of what the Galaxy A53 5G offers and created a more affordable package. Thus, the Galaxy A33 5G exists with identical chipsets, similar storage options, equally competent mobile and Internet connectivity, and identical battery and charging specs.

The main differences lie in its display and camera. The panel sits at 6.4-inch with Full HD+ (1080p) resolution, and has a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz. The four rear cameras are led by a 48MP main shooter, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth camera, and 5MP macro, but otherwise has similar OIS and Night Mode features.

Like the pricier Galaxy A53 5G, the A33 5G phone has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, 8GB RAM inside, equally fast 25W fast-charging, and an identical IP67 rating.

Samsung Galaxy A13 LTE

Finally, the Galaxy A13 LTE works as Samsung’s entry-level alternative that covers all the basics of a phone. It still has Android 12 (cloaked under One UI 4), a 5,000mAh battery and 25W fast-charging. But the phone carries a different set of quad rear cameras, different chipset, up to LTE connectivity (no 5G support), no IP rating, and smaller 4GB RAM. These watered-down specs help make it the most affordable option out of the trio arriving here.

The Galaxy A13 LTE uses a 6.6-inch, Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. Inside is a Samsung Exynos 850, and its rear cameras are a 50MP main (no OIS), 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth camera, and 2MP macro camera.
